Trio finalists in Probation Awards
20 June 2017
THREE colleagues from across Interserve’s Community Rehabilitation Companies are finalists in tomorrow’s prestigious National Probation Awards.
The annual award scheme recognises outstanding work in the probation sector, and is organised by the Government’s Her Majesty’s Prisons and Probation Service.
The event, which is hosted at Crewe Hall Hotel in Cheshire, also selects the Probation Champion of the Year – an accolade that last year was won by HLNY CRC’s Shaun Anderson.
This year’s finalists are Hampshire & Isle of Wight CRC’s Aaron McCabe, a case manager, and Interchange Manager Rob Marsh; together with case manager Suhail Nawaz, from West Yorkshire CRC.
Ian Mulholland, Interserve’s Director of Justice, said: “I am delighted that we have three representatives at the finals.
“I know from my experience of meeting staff from across our CRCs that colleagues carry out inspirational work supporting people on probation, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that our three finalists get the recognition they deserve.”
Aaron, a finalist in the Fairness & Equality category, was nominated for his work as a health trainer, a position which he occupied from 2015 until recently when he became a case manager.
Rob, based in Portsmouth, was also a finalist in 2015. He has been nominated in the Innovation category for starting Open Door, a mutual support peer group run by probation service users.
And Suhail, based in Bradford, has also been nominated in the Fairness and Equality category for his approach in bringing in partnership agencies together to help produce the best results for service users.
